Not a lot has changed from December of last year. CIF Champion Monrovia has gotten better with Paraclete, San Dimas and Sierra Canyon not far behind. In case you forgot, those were the final four teams from a year ago. Arroyo, which gave Sierra Canyon all it could handle last year in the post season, checks in at number five.

1. Monrovia – Did you expect anybody else?

2. Paraclete- Right now the only team that could give the Wildcats a run.

3. San Dimas – Loss of Jake Payton just gives other backs a chance to shine.

4. Sierra Canyon- Lost some key players but quarterback Andre Nunez is back.

5. Arroyo- Knights have been impressive in summer.

6. Montebello – Solid defense led by Jordan Fowlkes.

7. Windward – The next best thing in the Alpha – (not named Paraclete or Sierra Canyon).

8. Bell Gardens – New coach but same tough squad.

9. Northview – Vikes should have enough for playoff berth in Valle Vista.

10. Rosemead – Steven Nava makes his debut at quarterback.

11. Brentwood – The best 7-3 team last year nobody knew about.

12. Schurr – Sal Chavez does everything except the team laundry.

13. El Monte – Lions lost some talent, but looking to sustain momentum.

14. Covina – Colts are young; keep an eye on Pernell Smalley.

15. South El Monte – Can Eagles crack the top three in the MVL?

16. Temple City – After Monrovia, Rams should contend in Rio.

17. San Marino – Titans graduated a boat load but should be fine in Rio Hondo.

18. Gabrielino- We’re hearing it’s the Eagles year. We’ll see.

19. Baldwin Park – Michael Moran and Bravos will be much improved.

20. South Pasadena – Tigers keep losing quarterbacks. Can they win enough games?

You’ll find the usual suspects at the top of the list.
