The Heralds had a total of 384 yards on the ground overall.<\/p>\n<p>***Whittier Christian led 28-7 at the half but the points didn&#8217;t come the traditional way. The Heralds had two field goals, a safety, and three touchdowns with a missed extra point.<\/p>\n<p>***The safety came in the second quarter when Village Christian snapped the ball over the punter&#8217;s head and he was tackled in the endzone.<\/p>\n<p>***Heralds&#8217; quarterback Ryan Esslinger nearly rushed for as many yards (66) as he passed for (78).<\/p>\n<p>***David Fischer scored twice in the first half and had 40 yards overall but left in the first half with an injury.<\/p>\n<p>***Derek Brush booted four field goals for Whittier Christian of 24, 35, 41 and 26 yards.<\/p>\n<p>***Down 41-7 in the fourth quarter, Village Christian scored the last two touchdowns of the game on a two yard run by Wesley Deaver and a 38 yard pass from Deaver to Matt Shashaty.<\/p>\n<p>***Deaver completed 13 of 23 for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
