The bitter Dodger fan inside of me requires I make this statement: Remember Angel fans the only World Series you have ever won was won with former Dodger great Mike Scioscia running the show. In the rain on this same date in 1987 South Pasadena, under head coach Ron Cuccia, came to North Field and beat Temple City 21-17. Tigers wide receiver Sergio Ristie made a diving catch of quarterback Chip Edwards 17-yard pass to end zone late in the fourth quarter for the winning score.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Monte snapped a seven game losing streak when defensive lineman Manuel Mata fell on a fumble in the end zone for a 14-7 victory over Duarte. It would EMHS only win in 1987.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a night of shutouts quarterback Tarrell Amos led Muir to a 34-0 victory over Crescenta Valley, Dave Paladino intercepted three passes to lead La Canada to a 21-0 win over Monrovia, and San Marino beat Blair 21-0 thanks to two Rich Adams touchdown runs and Robbie Santos 81-yard kick-off return for six to open the game. <\/span><\/p>\n

And a crack writer from the Star News saw St. John Bosco\u2019s Leo Byrne boot a 32-yard field goal with 30-seconds left on the clock to give the Braves a 24-21 victory over St. Francis.<\/span><\/p>\n

On this date in 1992, on another storm night, Monrovia lost again to La Canada, 30-26, but got on the board first win Wildcat quarterback Earl Davis completed a 98-yard scoring pass to Greg Brinson. The longest in M-Town history.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Duarte the game and homecoming festivities were held up when a bolt of lightening struck a transformer in the Falcons 33-7 victory over El Monte.<\/span><\/p>\n

Peter Mora scored a pair of touchdowns as Schurr beat Alhambra 21-2, Akil Harris rushed for 114-yards and Monrovia beat Temple City 18-13, and Steve Stevenson led Charter Oak to a 21-14 win over Wilson with a pair of scores and a complement from Don Lou Farrar: \u201cHe\u2019s an excellent athlete, I wish I could clone him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
