(Photo by Joe T.)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Alex Gonzalez<\/p>\n<p>(Bell Gardens)\u2014 Bell Gardens safety Justin Galvan picked off a Adam Polanco pass in the red-zone with three minutes to play in the fourth quarter to seal the Lancers 26-18 victory over Schurr Friday night at Bell Gardens High School.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>BG quarterback Jordan Cardenas and Isea Remigio put the Lancers up first when they connected on an 81-yard touchdown with 6:03 left in the first quarter. On their next drive Esequiel Covarrubias booted a 37-yard field goal to give the home team a 10-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>With 32 seconds left in the first Schurr got back in the game when Polanco hit Efrain Velez for a 24-yard score. The point after was blocked.<\/p>\n<p>The Lancers extended their lead to 16-6 with 9:39 remaining in the half, when running back Jordan Preciado sprinted 22-yards to paydirt.<\/p>\n<p>The Spartans answered right back when Noah Quintero capped off an eight-play drive when he jumped over the trenches from a yard out to pull his team with in four points.<\/p>\n<p>Covarrubias, however, made his second field goal from 25-yards at the end the half, to extend Bell Gardens lead to 19-12.<\/p>\n<p>Following intermission, the Lancers Erick Galicia pounded his way in from 8-yards out extending BG\u2019s lead 26-12<\/p>\n<p>Polanco added a quarterback sneak for a touchdown in third, but the Spartans late comeback attempt was foiled by Galvan\u2019s interception with 3:09 to play.<\/p>\n<p>***Bell Gardens Starting Offensive line<br \/>\nLT 67 Ramon Pena<br \/>\nLG 66 Guadalupe Arevalos<br \/>\nC 78 Alejandro Parra<br \/>\nRG 64 Oscar Andrade<br \/>\nRT 56 Ernesto Sandoval<\/p>\n<p>***Schurr Starting Offensive line<br \/>\nLT 60 Andrew Ortiz<br \/>\nLG 66 Jensen Rojas<br \/>\nC 62 Daniel Rodriguez<br \/>\nRG 70 Jacob Ortiz<br \/>\nRT 51 Matthew Perez<\/p>\n<p>***Esequiel Covarrubias 2\/2 kicking from 25 and 37-yards.<\/p>\n<p>***Jordan Cardenas 8-15 passing 126-yards 1 Passing touchdown.
