Darreon Lockett leads Pomona into the Mid Valley Division Finals.<\/p><\/div>\n

(Pomona) The Pomona Red Devils knocked off the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers 33-20 Friday night to reach the finals of the CIF Mid Valley Division\u00a0 playoffs.<\/p>\n

It was another magnificent night for Pomona’s Darreon Lockett who threw over and ran through a frustrated Sierra Canyon defense who could not find a way to contain the Red Devil playmaker.<\/p>\n

The Trailblazers did score first early in the first quarter on a three yard run by Kaiser Butler. The touchdown was set up by a 58-yard strike on the first play from scrimmage from Beau Zacharia to Isaiah Renfro.<\/p>\n

Pomona tied the game with just under one minute left in the first period capping a 14 play drive with a 10-yard pass from Lockett to Desmond Bobo.<\/p>\n

The two teams traded touchdowns and missed extra points until Sierra Canyon broke through to take a 20-19 lead right before the half.<\/p>\n

The Red Devil defense stepped up in the second half and shut out the Trailblazers for the next 24 mintues to seal the 33-20 victory.<\/p>\n

*** Lockett finished the night hitting on 24 of 41 passes for 382-yards and two scores.<\/p>\n

*** Zacharia completed 13 of 33 passes for 192-yards for Sierra Canyon.<\/p>\n

*** Lockett was also Pomona’s leading ground gainer with 87-yards and a score.<\/p>\n

*** Leading the Trailblazers on the ground was Josh Cole with 90-yards on 17 carries and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

*** Bobo was Lockett’s favorite target hauling in five passes for 106-yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

*** Isaiah Renfro finished the night with five catches for 109-yards.<\/p>\n

*** Shawn Wilson also had a stellar night for the Red Devils with four catches for 140-yards\u00a0 and added an 85–yard kick off return to paydirt.<\/p>\n

*** Providing the protection for Lockett were LT Alex Arroyas, LG Manuel Colbert, C Nicholas Meza, RG Oliver Deerr, RT Keevan Whatley<\/p>\n

*** Battling in the trenches for Sierra Canyon was LT Devon O’Grady, LG Joseph Rodriguez, C Marcus Brown, RG Eric Cohen, RT Kanan Ray.<\/p>\n

*** Pomona will now travel to the cold confines of the Antelope Valley to take on the Paraclete Spirits next Friday night at Antelope Valley College.<\/p>\n
