Frank Castro: 4 JUNE 1955-8 DECEMBER 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

My father was a member of the 1972 Bonita High School Football team, the team that lost the first Smudgepot to San Dimas High School in its first season of Varsity Football.\u00a0 Crazy to think about that.\u00a0 We used to always talk about where Bonita would be if San Dimas was never built, how good would we be?<\/p>\n

Our relationship changed when I started college and then became a man.\u00a0 We were on level ground, we’d talk about all kind of things.\u00a0 I didn’t know it until September, when I was talking to a colleague about our parents legacy, and that I told him to look at himself.\u00a0 He was his father’s legacy.\u00a0 I did not know it at the time I’d be here.\u00a0 I am my father’s legacy, he must have been pretty good then.<\/p>\n

When he’d tell me about stuff, I had no idea, could not fathom the impact he would have on this community.\u00a0 Being a Bonita Bearcat means a lot to me, but it meant so much to my father.\u00a0 In his latter years after I’d graduated he spent a lot of time as a patron and fan of Bonita Athletics.\u00a0 He could be seen often on the sidelines at home and away games whether it was Football or Girls Basketball.\u00a0 He was always there in support of his Bearcats.\u00a0 He will be missed.<\/p>\n
