Last week the Golden Knights fell to Harvard-Westlake on a last second pass as time ran out. Friday night they got a first place\u00a0Cathedral team that was undefeated after seven weeks coming in.\u00a0A loss here and St. Francis might as well make plans for next year.\u00a0Instead the Golden Knight turned the tables,\u00a0got off the floor and knocked off Cathedral 31-14 Friday night\u00a0at Friedman Field.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-50707\"><\/span>Tied at 14 in the third quarter Jasher Foster made the game turning play when he fielded a punt at his own seven yard line broke a couple of tackles and outran the Cathedral coverage 93 yards for a touchdown. Just like that it was 21-14 and the Golden Knights never looked back.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Francis D stopped the Phantoms on the next three possessions forcing a punt and then stopping two fourth down conversions.<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Knights then iced it with a late touchdown in the fourth quarter when Foster got loose again. Running out of the wildcat, he broke a tackle at the goal and went through the Cathedral defense for a 19 yard scoring jaunt.<\/p>\n<p>Cathedral scored both of its touchdowns in the first quarter and jumped out to a 14-6 lead after one. But The Golden Knights shut out the Phantoms the rest of the way.<\/p>\n<p>St. Francis tied it on a three-yard run by Jace Harrick and two point conversion pass from Miles Bryant to Daniel Scott. The TD was set up by a 71-yard pass from Bryant to Scott.<\/p>\n<p>St. Francis then went on a 17-0 second half run.<\/p>\n<p>*** Cathedral played the game shorthanded due to several players being suspended for a hazing incident earlier in the week. Several lineman and the starting kicker were among the players suspended.<\/p>\n<p>*** Cathedral jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a Jamire Calvin 90 yard punt return.<\/p>\n<p>*** St. Francis tied it at six on a four yard run by Harrick with 4:24 left in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>*** Cathedral\u2019s Renard Bell put the Phantoms up 14-6 with 25 seconds left in the first as he hauled in a 29-yard pass from Andrew Tovar.<\/p>\n<p>*** Harrick, nephew of former Pepperdine\/UCLA head coach Jim Harrick, rushed for 100 yards and two touchdown on 19 carries to lead the St. Francis attack.<\/p>\n<p>*** Foster rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on five carries and caught two passes for 25 yards in addition to the punt return for a score.<\/p>\n<p>*** Bryant completed 9 of 12 for 137 yards for the Golden Knights.<\/p>\n<p>*** Dulles Hanula booted a 32-yard field goal for the Golden Knights.<\/p>\n<p>*** St. Francis improved to 5-3 overall and 1-2 in league with St. Paul coming to town next week.<\/p>\n<p>*** Cathedral, now 7-1 and 2-1 will travel to Harvard-Westlake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tim Peterson (La Canada) \u2013 St. Francis\u00a0lost\u00a0two weeks ago to Salesian in double overtime.
