\n(Pomona)-\u00a0If this game sets the tone for playoff action this playoff season we are in store for a great road to the championship as the Pomona\u00a0pulled out a dramatic 40-33 win over Brentwood Friday night in the first round of the Mid-Valley Division playoffs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Eagles seemed poised to head back to Los Angeles with a win and ticket to the second\u00a0round after owning the third\u00a0quarter. Leading 20-19 at the half, Brentwood\u00a0scored with 1:40 left in the third\u00a0increasing its\u00a0lead to 26-19. On the last play of the the third\u00a0the Eagles Isaiah Harrison exploded up the middle for a 56 -yard\u00a0touchdown to make it\u00a033-19. At this point Pomona’s fans became eerily silent while the players stood dejected and looked as if the season was slipping away.<\/p>\n

With 8:12 left in the fourth\u00a0Pomona had a fourth\u00a0and goal at\u00a0the Eagles 25. On the play Pomona’s Darreon Lockett bought time, scrambled in the pocket and connected with Chris Jackson\u00a0to cut Brentwood’s lead to 33-26. This was the spark that ignited Pomona’s comeback. The Red Devils scored twice more, and provided the dagger with 30 seconds left when Lockett found the end zone on a 5-yard keeper for the win.<\/div>\n

*** Pomona’s Darreon Lockett was 12\/26 for 133 yards ,1 passing TD, and ran the ball 20 times for 130 yards, 3 rushing TD’s<\/p>\n

*** The Red Devil’s Brian Lamb carried the ball 10 times for 97 yards, 2\u00a0TD.<\/div>\n
*** Brentwood’s Holden Thomas was 20\/43 for 301 yards 3 passing TD.<\/div>\n
*** Thomas’ number one target for the night Harry Schwartz, who hauled in 8 catches for 72 yards, 3 TD.<\/div>\n
*** Isaiah Harrison carried the ball 9 times for 69 yards, 1 TD.<\/div>\n
