(Anaheim) – The KISS fell behind\u00a0by three touchdowns\u00a0at halftime and ultimately could never recover in a 64-49 loss to Arizona Sunday at Honda Center. <\/p>\n

Nick Davila threw\u00a0four touchdown passes\u00a0in the first half\u00a0for the Rattlers\u00a0and KJ Morton returned a Pete Thomas\u00a0pass\u00a019 yards for a pick six to highlight the\u00a0first half.<\/p>\n

Davila found Maurce Purify three times\u00a0for touchdowns\u00a0and also hit Chase Deadder for ten yards too open the scoring.<\/p>\n

Thomas\u00a0connected with Justin\u00a0Wilson for a 39-yard\u00a0touchdown pass\u00a0to cut the lead to 21-12 but the extra point attempt was fumbled and Jeremy Kellem returned it to the end zone for two points.\u00a0Later in the half\u00a0Thomas hit\u00a0Donovan “Captain” Morgan\u00a0for a 40-yard TD strike and he also\u00a0scored on a two-yard run but\u00a0the KISS still went into the half down by three scores.<\/p>\n

Arizona\u00a0went up 43-20 just before the break when Davila connected with Purify for six yards but Josh Victorian of the KISS\u00a0got the two points back when he returned a blocked extra point back to the end zone to make it 43-22.<\/p>\n

The KISS turned it around in the third quarter scoring on three consecutive\u00a0possessions.\u00a0After scoring on their first possession of the second half on a five-yard run by Rory Nixon,\u00a0 Fredrick Obi picked off a pass to set up a Thomas to Morgan 19-yard TD pass.\u00a0The KISS then held on downs and Thomas then\u00a0found a wide open Rory Nixon over the middle\u00a0for an 11-yard score. The extra point was missed\u00a0and the KISS was down just one at 43-42.<\/p>\n

The Rattlers responded with a\u00a0TD pass from Davila to Mykel Benson, who caught the ball\u00a0out of the backfield and then rumbled\u00a036 yards for a score to put Arizona up 50-42.<\/p>\n

The KISS came\u00a0right back as Morgan got\u00a0behind the Rattler secondary\u00a0and hauled\u00a0in a\u00a0perfectly thrown 43-yard bomb from Thomas to again cut the lead to one. For the KISS that was their last score of the night.<\/p>\n

The Rattlers answered with a\u00a0drive of their own capped by a one-yard run\u00a0by Benson.<\/p>\n

Thomas was\u00a0hit while releasing the ball on the following series\u00a0and was\u00a0intercepted. Arizona cashed in\u00a0on a\u00a0couple of big runs by Benson,\u00a0including another short blast for a touchdown and the lead was\u00a0once again\u00a015 at 64-49.<\/p>\n

The KISS scored 26 points in the third quarter but none in the fourth and\u00a0fell to defeat.<\/p>\n

“To beat a team of that caliber it takes talent and not making mistakes and we’re not there yet,” said KISS Head Coach Omarr Smith. “Regardless of Arena Football, High School, College or professional to beat a team of that caliber, you can’t make mistakes. Period.”<\/p>\n

The KISS fell to 5-7 with the loss with four games remaining while Arizona improved\u00a0to 10-3.<\/p>\n
