(Covina)\u2014 You know the boxing line a corner man will give his fighter, \u201cStick and move, don\u2019t stand and trade punches with this guy. He\u2019ll knock you into tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rosemead football has always been physical, they mixed it up with Northview, and the Vikings knocked them into tomorrow with a 47-14 victory on Thursday night at Covina District Field.<\/p>\n

Northview started the game at its own 37, drove the length of the field, got a big 25-yard run by Kevin Thomas, and then coughed the ball up on a back exchange between Thomas and quarterback Steven Comstock. The Panthers Darien Camacho recovered at the five.<\/p>\n

Rosemead\u2019s first snap went through Isaia Ah-hing\u2019s hands and off his helmet. The Vikings Bobby Blass recovered at the five, and few eye-blinks later Comstock scored on a short run.<\/p>\n

The Panthers were quick to respond. Unable to establish a running game Ah-hing went to the air, connecting with Elisha Garner and Chris Alvarez to advance the ball. A double personal foul penalty pushed the chains even further downfield, then Ah-hing went 28-yards to Garner on a seam route and the game was tied at seven.<\/p>\n

Seven to seven, toe to toe, and that\u2019s when Northview began unloading.<\/p>\n

Antwaun Ayers returned the ensuing kickoff 79-yards for a touchdown. Three minutes later Comstock scored on a 1-yard run and with 48 seconds left in the first quarter, Martin Gutierrez struck paydirt on a 2-yard run.<\/p>\n

In the second quarter, Comstock went back to Gutierrez for a 10-yard pass and catch. That was followed by a 70-yard touchdown pass to Ayers which was followed by a 1-yard scoring run by Kobe Quiroga.<\/p>\n

The halftime bell rang and Mead was out on its feet.<\/p>\n

Ah-hing was able to connect with Garner in the third quarter on a 16-yard touchdown pass to finish it.<\/p>\n

The win improved Northview 1-1 while Rosemead fell to 0-2. Next, the Panthers travel to Artesia and the Vikings go to Santa Fe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
