{"id":55098,"date":"2016-09-09T20:59:09","date_gmt":"2016-09-10T03:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=55098"},"modified":"2016-09-10T16:19:46","modified_gmt":"2016-09-10T23:19:46","slug":"woes-continue-for-m-town-arcadia-wins-22-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=55098","title":{"rendered":"Woes Continue for M-Town, Arcadia Wins, 22-21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Rich Whittington<\/p>\n<p>(Monrovia)- The Arcadia Apaches survived injuries, turnovers, penalties, to best the host Monrovia Wildcats on Friday evening, 22-21, at Wildcat Stadium.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Monrovia, now 0-3 to begin a season for the first time since 1989, tripled its scoring totals for first two games of the 2016 season. Before Friday\u2019s contest, the Wildcats had been outscored by a total of 70-7.<\/p>\n<p>Monrovia scored the evening\u2019s first points when senior Elijah Hall ran for a 72-yard touchdown with 7:40 remaining in the first quarter. Hall also proved he can do it through the air, connecting with senior wide receiver Cameron Montano for a 60-yard score. Davila scored on touchdown runs of 1, 6, and 7-yards. The balance of the Arcadia scoring was provided by junior kicker, Randy Ludwig, who converted a 30-yard field goal and one point-after attempt.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Apaches won the game, things were far from perfect. Arcadia garnered 110 yards in penalties, which included five Unsportsmanlike Conduct calls. Three of these penalties were called on senior wide receiver\/cornerback Raeshawn Roland. Rowland would leave the game in the third quarter, after taking a hard hit from the Monrovia defense. Additionally, the Apaches turned the ball over three times\u2026fumbling twice, and intercepted once.<\/p>\n<p>Monrovia\u2019s next game is Friday, 9\/16\/16. The Wildcats will host the Whittier Cardinals.
