You know all the jokes can&#8217;t be good&#8230;you have to expect that once in a while.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s nice that San Dimas is at home and, of course, its got a great history with Rio Mesa\u2026I\u2019ve been praying for this match up for years\u2026I know no one would want to see San Dimas play Burbank or Muir\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Sarcasm aside\u2026Congrats to Alhambra for making the dance\u2026and for only having to travel to Santa Ana instead of El Centro.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers trading of Carlos Ruiz, who is 37, to the Mariners for Vidal Nuno, left-handed reliever, reminds me of the Dodgers trading 37-year old Steve Yeager to the Mariners for a left-handed reliever named Ed Vande Berg after the 1985 season.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>I got asked by an adult about what they should say to their kid about the election\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026I laughed in their face\u2026Couldn\u2019t help it\u2026 I told them to say what they always say. I remembered one night I was at Lambert Park covering El Monte National\u2026This kid, who looked like it was the first time he\u2019d ever had a bat in his hands, came up with the bases loaded and two-outs in the last inning. He struck-out with a very bad swing on a pitch that was a foot over his head.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd groaned\u2026But his coach came out there, clapping his hands, and told the kid; \u201cThat\u2019s okay, we\u2019re going to work on that.\u201d He put an arm around the kid and walked him off the field.<\/p>\n<p>Flash forward to the end of the season and the same kid comes up in the same situation and this time he singles up the middle for the game-winner. It was probably one of the most beautiful things I\u2019d ever seen in sports.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Add on Election:<\/strong> I have no problem with people protesting or being angry\u2026You want to march, march. You want to walk out, walk out. Get angry\u2026But on a personal level the videos I\u2019m seeing of people crying about this election is disgusting. I have no pity, sympathy, or empathy for you\u2026Grow up\u2026.Get angry\u2026but these public displays of tears are ridiculous and only reinforce the worst stereotypes of Millennials.<\/p>\n<p>When I see people balling over this (Like I said, I\u2019m cool with the protesters and the marchers)\u2026All I can think about is what Lloyd Christmas said to Harry Dunn, when Harry said he didn\u2019t bet (gamble)\u2026Lloyd uses just one word, but he repeats it three times.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and if you don\u2019t vote\u2026You\u2019ve lost you\u2019re right to be taken seriously when it comes to protesting\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Every vote counts\u2026even in California\u2026How much better does the argument for Hillary and the popular vote versus the Electoral College become if the popular advantage becomes greater and greater?<\/p>\n<p>By the way\u2026Please come out and vote for Calexit\u2026I\u2019d like to see that.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Azusa is playing Carnegie? In Riverside? The Aztecs are 5-5, they finished third in the Montview, and CalPreps gives them a -9.7 power rating\u2026That\u2019s not a dash and a 9.7 but a negative symbol followed by a 9.7.<\/p>\n<p>Carnegie is 7-3 overall and has a power rating of -(negative) 31.1\u2026Azusa is projected by CalPreps to win, 31-12.<\/p>\n<p>With athletic budgets being so small and schools needing money\u2026save the gas, and the hours paid to the driver\u2026and just declare Azusa the winner.<\/p>\n<p>Sort of makes you long for the old, imperfect, playoff divisions.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>One of the worst things I ever saw covering Little League baseball was a game at Live Oak Park in the District 18 Tournament of Champions. A kid is on the mound and he\u2019s pitching well\u2026and his father is out beyond the left-field fence, completely drunk, and yelling at him\u2026Dads from the team leave the stands and went running around the field to get the drunk father out of there\u2026The manager walked to the mound and the kid was hiding his face in his glove because he was crying\u2026Apparently, I found out later, the kid\u2019s dad had been on the wagon for a while and had fallen off that week\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It makes me sad to even share this story\u2026but it something worth crying over.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Add High School Playoffs:<\/strong> The Rams are playing the Jets\u2026I know, I know it\u2019s not high school football\u2026but it sure feels like it to me\u2026You know, if Cathedral wasn\u2019t going to go with Andrew Tovar full-time they should have dealt him to the Rams\u2026Tovar to the Rams\u2026Left tackle Greg Robinson to the Phantoms\u2026<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Coolest Little League Story: I\u2019m working a football game at Bergstrom Stadium\u2026and this teenager comes up to me and says; \u201cYou\u2019re Joe T.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I confirmed I was\u2026 \u201cYou wrote a story about me in Little League and my dad cut it out of the paper and made a plaque out of it.
