Bobby Cole scored four times for Sierra Canyon<\/p><\/div>\n

(Glendora) – Sierra Canyon broke open\u00a0a\u00a0close game to outscore Charter Oak\u00a021-0\u00a0in the fourth\u00a0quarter and went on to beat\u00a0the Chargers\u00a042-19 Friday night\u00a0and advance to the\u00a0CIF Division 4\u00a0Finals. <\/p>\n

Bobby Cole\u00a0scored four touchdowns\u00a0including\u00a0a pair of 36-yard touchdown runs – one in the first quarter on the Trailblazers\u00a0first possession and another in the fourth\u00a0quarter with 2:09 left that iced the game.\u00a0His other runs came\u00a0on short\u00a0blasts of two\u00a0and three yards in the third and fourth quarters.<\/p>\n

Charter Oak\u00a0hung around\u00a0through out the contest and\u00a0took the lead at 19-14 with 3:34 left\u00a0in the third\u00a0on a 15-yard touchdown pass from\u00a0Zack Niccoli to Jermaine Braddock.\u00a0That was the last time\u00a0Charter Oak scored however\u00a0as the Trailblazers scored the\u00a0next 28 points.<\/p>\n

On the next series Cole capped an 80-yard drive with a two-yard run as Sierra Canyon immediately answered\u00a0to go up\u00a021-19. It stayed that way\u00a0until late\u00a0in the fourth quarter when\u00a0JJ Hernandez\u00a0picked off a pass to set up Sierra Canyon at the\u00a0Charter Oak\u00a041. Six plays later\u00a0Cole went in from\u00a0the three-yard line to make it\u00a028-19.<\/p>\n

Another interception gave Sierra Canyon\u00a0another short\u00a0field. On the first play from scrimmage Cole broke a tackle at the line of scrimmage\u00a0and went 36 yards\u00a0for the score to make it 35-19.<\/p>\n

Niccoli\u00a0was injured in the fourth quarter and was replaced by\u00a0Kendle Mcmillian.\u00a0Michael Myrick\u00a0picked off a Mcmillian pass on the Chargers next series\u00a0and returned it\u00a054 yards for the pick six\u00a0for the final score.<\/p>\n

Brian Casteel\u00a0caught\u00a023-yard TD pass from Niccoli\u00a0to tie the game at seven in the first quarter. Sierra Canyon responded\u00a0with a 62-yard touchdown strike from Johnny Hawkins to Corey Jones to go up 14-7.<\/p>\n

The Chargers cut it\u00a0to 14-13 with 1:00 minute\u00a0left in the first half when Casteel\u00a0scored on a four-yard run. The\u00a0missed extra point left\u00a0the Blazers up by one at the break.<\/p>\n

Charter Oak\u00a0went up on Braddock’s\u00a0reception until Sierra Canyon turned it around.<\/p>\n

Charter\u00a0Oak was hurt by turnovers as Sierra Canyon\u00a0picked off five\u00a0passes – four in the second half. Niccoli threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns but was hurt by the three picks.\u00a0Mcmillian threw two interceptions after replacing Niccoli in the fourth quarter.\u00a0Braddock had five receptions for 125 yards and a score.\u00a0Casteel had five for 57.<\/p>\n

For Sierra Canyon, Cole\u00a0finished with 29 carries for 197 yards and\u00a0four touchdowns.\u00a0Hawkins completed 10 of 30 for 178 yards and a score with no picks.<\/p>\n

Next week Sierra Canyon\u00a0will host Corona Del Mar in the\u00a0Division 4 Finals. Time and date to be determined.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
