(Carson) – The Seattle Sounders dominated early as they raced out to a\u00a0three goal\u00a0lead in the first half and never looked back\u00a0in a 3-0 win over the Galaxy\u00a0Sunday before 24,931 at StubHub Center.<\/p>\n

“It was a dismal, terrible first half,\u00a0better second half, but not good enough,”\u00a0said Galaxy coach Curt Onalfo.<\/p>\n

Gyasi Zardes was able to get free off of a nice dish by Giovani dos Santos in the fourth minute but\u00a0his shot sailed wide right.\u00a0In the 10th minute Jordan Morris fired a shot\u00a0on the left flank but the Galaxy’s Brian\u00a0Rowe was there for the stop.<\/p>\n

In the 21st minute Seattle’s Clint Dempsey\u00a0had\u00a0a golden chance but he was\u00a0wide\u00a0left. Dempsey broke\u00a0through eight minutes later when he scored on a header off of a nicely placed cross by Nicolas Lodeiro.\u00a0The ball was just over the outstretched hands of Rowe.\u00a0In the 35th minute Seattle struck again as a cross pass by Joevin Jones was\u00a0deflected by Rowe and into the net\u00a0by Ashley Cole for an own goal.<\/p>\n

In the 44th\u00a0Morris took\u00a0a pass in stride from Jordy Delem and rammed\u00a0it into the corner\u00a0for a 3-0 Sounders lead at the break.<\/p>\n

“We actually started gaining momentum but then we got scored on the third goal on the counter.\u00a0If we didn’t give that goal away\u00a0I think everything would have changed,” Onalfo said.<\/p>\n

It was complete domination for Seattle in the first half\u00a0as the Sounders\u00a0had 11 total shots compared to one for the Galaxy.<\/p>\n

In the second half\u00a0dos Santos nearly converted when he had\u00a0a shot off of a rebound attempt\u00a0in the 51st minute but it was wide.<\/p>\n

Dempsey\u00a0nearly put the Sounders up four goals\u00a0when he booted one just high as it hit the crossbar in the 59th minute.<\/p>\n

Jermaine Jones\u00a0had an opportunity in the\u00a077th minute but\u00a0his header just outside the box\u00a0went wide left.<\/p>\n

Two\u00a0minutes of additional time were added\u00a0but the Galaxy\u00a0couldn’t get anything across.<\/p>\n

With the loss\u00a0the Galaxy dropped to 2-5 on the year. The Sounders improved to 2-2-3.<\/p>\n
