View ran roughshod over Workman Thursday night racing out to a 29-7 halftime lead and routing the Lobos 55-14 at Viking Stadium.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Vikes scored early and often while the Lobos continually turned the ball over or struggled to move the ball.<\/p>\n<p>Workman turned the ball over on its first possession and Mt. View immediately took advantage. The Vikings took over on the Workman 24 and&nbsp; six plays later Juan Medina went in from four yards out for a 6-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>later in the quarter, quarterback Aaron Borrayo ran through the Workman defense for a 79-yard touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>The Lobos offered a small murmur of protest on the ensuing kickoff when Francisco Andrade returned it 90 yards for a touchdown to cut the Mt. View lead to 13-7 early in the second quarter. The Vikings went on to score the next 42 points.<\/p>\n<p>Mt View went up by 22 at halftime. (Photo by Duane Barker).<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mt. View quickly put it away in the second half as Borrayo got his third TD of the night on a 22-yard jaunt. With 1:29 left in the third Peter Nguyen got loose for a 25-yard score. After another Workman turnover Flores scored his second on a 15 yard run.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth quarter featured a running clock but that didn&#8217;t stop the Vikes from finding the endzone one more time as Jesus Lopez scooped up a pass behind the line of scrimmage and returned the fumble 32 yards for a score.<\/p>\n<p>Workman added one late on a Rudy Jimenez two-yard run.<\/p>\n<p>When it was all said and done Mt. View had close to 300 yards rushing and a 41-point victory.<\/p>\n<p>Mt. Torosian has taken his 20 some years of reporting on Prep sports, mixed a healthy dose of San Gabriel Valley insider references and created a very readable first effort.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>&#8220;A page turner&#8230;I&#8217;m sorry it&#8217;s over! Is a sequel in the works?&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>&#8220;Torosian does for high school football what Hemingway did for the Spanish Civil War&#8230;compelling look beyond the scoreboard and into the lives of players&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>&#8220;A truly great story unfolds in the pages of Joe Torosian&#8217;s first novel.
