J.P. Andrade threw for 339 yards and two scores for Bonita<\/p><\/div>\n

(El Monte) – J.P Andrade threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns and Cade Cadum scored three times including a 95-yard kick off return as Bonita rolled to a 42-24 win over Arroyo Friday night at B.L. Bergstrom Stadium to kick off the season.<\/p>\n

Ernesto Camacho threw for a score and ran for another for the Knights but was also hurt by two interceptions.<\/p>\n

Bonita got started early scoring on its first drive of the game. The Bearcats needed just six plays to go 80 yards with Miles Mouradian scoring from five yards out to make it 7-0.<\/p>\n

Early in the second quarter after an Arroyo drive stalled Ramiro Piza booted a 28-yard field goal to make it 7-3. Five minutes later Bonita struck quickly when Andrade hit Cadum over the middle and escaped one tackler and was off to the races for a 74-yard catch and carry that pushed the lead to 14-3.<\/p>\n

The Knights were forced to punt and Bonita took advantage. This time Andrade connected with Cadum for 29 yards for a score. Cadum was again the beneficiary of some poor tackling by the Arroyo defense.<\/p>\n

Ernesto Camacho was sacked seven times by the Bearcat D<\/p><\/div>\n

The Bearcats looked to take the 21-3 lead into the locker room at the break but Arroyo had another response before the end of the quarter. Camacho aired one out and Carlos Hernandez came down with it in the endzone for a 34-yard touchdown to get the Knights within 11.<\/p>\n

In the second half Arroyo was playing catch up but was never able to get over the hump.<\/p>\n

The Knights did land the first punch of the third quarter as Camacho capped a 69-yard march with a two-yard keeper and with 7:09 left in the third it was 21-17.<\/p>\n

Bonita had an answer on the following possession driving 80 yards on 10 plays, Daniel Oseguera going the last yard on a plunge up the middle.<\/p>\n

With just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter Arroyo had one last murmur of protest. Camacho went deep down field and Jared Hernandez corralled it 43 yards later to make it 28-24 and again the Knights were within striking distance. Unfortunately for the Arroyo faithful that was the last Knight touchdown of the evening.<\/p>\n

The Bearcats effectively iced it on the ensuing kickoff. Cadum fielded the boot at the five yard line and out ran the Arroyo coverage 95 yards for a touchdown. It was still only 35-24 with a full quarter remaining but that seemed to take the wind out of Arroyo’s sails.<\/p>\n

Camacho was picked on two consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter and Bonita added one more on an Andrade eight -yard run.<\/p>\n

Jared Hernandez had seven catches for 113 yards and a score as Camacho’s go to guy. Camacho threw for 289 yards overall. Camacho was sacked seven times by the Bearcat front.<\/p>\n

Cadum racked up 204 yards on six catches to spark the Bearcats to a victory in Steve Bogan’s first game as Bonita’s head coach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
