Anthony Ledesma, El Monte\u2019s starting quarterback the last two seasons, has transferred to Temple City. The deal\u2014pardon\u2014the transfer, pending for several weeks, is now confirmed with a verified change in address. Ledesma officially withdrew from El Monte early this morning.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have nothing but good things to say about Coach (Dan) Valencia and El Monte,\u201d said Carlos Ledesma, Anthony\u2019s father by phone. \u201cBut with my job change and our need to move, Temple City High School makes the best sense.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really sorry to see Anthony go,\u201d Valencia said. \u201cI\u2019ve known this was coming, didn\u2019t want it to happen, but family needs to do what\u2019s best for family. We wish him well, and Lions football is going to be just fine.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The El Monte administration said it will not protest the transfer.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Ledesma\u2019s arrival serves as the final piece to Temple City\u2019s strong off-season. After landing sophomore wide receiver, Johnson Jones out of Pasadena and center, Ivan Jakes out of Cathedral, TC HC, Paul Crew scored big with the veteran quarterback.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThrilled beyond measure,\u201d said Crew. \u201cThe most experienced quarterback in the program, before Ledesma\u2019s announcement, was Joey Prine. I like him, I like his future, but he\u2019s only going to be a sophomore. Ledesma\u2019s got twenty-two consecutive starts under his belt. That\u2019s a lot of reps in football games that count.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Ledesma passed for 2,877 yards and 25-touchdowns as a junior a year ago. In two seasons as a starter for the Lions, he threw 47 touchdown passes.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cNo doubt about it,\u201d said Crew. \u201cHe (Ledesma) takes us to another level.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
