\n[El Monte] Davon Booth led top seeded El Monte to a 60-21 victory over visiting Ocean View Friday night at El Monte high school. <\/p>\n
The game started off all Lions after a three and out for the Seahawks, Booth took a pitch 96-yards to paydirt on the first play making it 8-0 after the two-point conversion. <\/p>\n
Ocean View got a good kick return from Brandon Alcarez and the offense put it together and drove 55-yards down field and capped it off with a Brandon Crabtree 18-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Arce making it 8-7.<\/p>\n
El Monte pieced together an eleven play 70-yard drive that was finished off with a three yard sweep from Abel Cueva making it 16-7. <\/p>\n
The Lions stopped the Seahawks offense again and got another long drive and this one was pushed in by quarterback Jaime Herrera for a one yard score. <\/p>\n
Ocean View fumbled the kick off return and El Monte took advantage after a few penalties pushed them back Herrera took it to the air and connected with Booth for a 38-yard touchdown putting the score at 32-7.<\/p>\n
The Lions got the ball on a turnover on downs and Booth broke it for a 90-yards for his third score of the game. <\/p>\n
The Seahawks got on the board when Crabtree found a wide open Alcarez for a 75-yard touchdown cutting into the lead 38-14.<\/p>\n
El Monte scored twice in the last 2:30 of the first half on a 62-yard run by Cueva and as time expired in the first half JJ Reyes took a punt 75-yards to the end zone making it 52-14 at the half.<\/p>\n
Ocean View scored early in the fourth quarter on a Anthony Ramirez 55-yard run.<\/p>\n
The Lions got on the board one more time when Marco Montoya got in the end zone from five yards out making it 60-21.<\/p>\n
El Monte ran for 479-yards, Booth had 288 of them and Cueva ran for 96 both had a pair of rushing touchdowns. Neither player played in the second half. <\/p>\n
Crabtree had two touchdown passes for the Seahawks before getting knocked out in the second quarter. Alcarez had 109-yards receiving and a score. <\/p>\n
The Lions (11-0) move on to play Nordhoff next week at home in the quarterfinals of the CIF SS playoffs. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
