Whitworth is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks. <\/li><li>Wichita State Basketball Coach Gregg Marshall resigned Tuesday after 14 years following an internal investigation into allegations of physical and verbal abuse.  <\/li><li>On this day in 1949 the Dodgers Jackie Robinson was named NL MVP. <\/li><li>Also on this day in 1966 Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax announced his retirement due to an arthritic left elbow.
