(Pico Rivera) – El Rancho quarterback Elijah Mitchell sliced up the Norwalk defense for four touchdown passes in the Dons 34-7 victory Friday night over the Lancers at Don Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n

The night started off rough for both teams as the Dons had a punt on their first possession and then the teams exchanged fumbles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Dons third possession of the game Mitchell got them down field and running back Anthony Bonilla finished it off with a 16-yard touchdown run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After another Norwalk fumble and punts from both teams, El Rancho drove down field and Mitchell hit Dylan Dominguez to put the Dons up 14-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lancers double wing offense pounded the ball down field and running back David Herrera capped it off with a two yard dive making it 14-7 with just a few seconds remaining in the half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s all the time Mitchell needed with three seconds left as he found Dominguez again this time for 53-yards to paydirt making the score 21-7 at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Norwalk got the ball first the second half and ran five minutes off the clock but couldn\u2019t pound it into the end zone turning it over on downs inside its own 20-yard line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mitchell took advantage of the turnover and found Dominguez for the third time in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lancers turned the ball over again with a fumble and Mitchell again made them pay with a 30-yard touchdown – this time to Eliseo Bojorquez making it 34-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Norwalk got the ball again but turned it over on downs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mitchell who finished 14 of 19 for 268-yards and four touchdowns said after the game \u201cWe\u2019re not to be taken lightly\u201d. The Dons are now 6-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Linebacker Angel Diaz, who was all over the field for El Rancho, said \u201cLeague is a revenge tour\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dominguez finished with three catches for 67-yards and three scores, Bojorquez had three receptions for 91-yards and a score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Norwalk\u2019s offense was led by Herrera who had 123-yards on the ground on 25-carries but also had two lost fumbles. Fellow running back Jonathan Goodloe had 20-carries for 72-yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
El Rancho will stay home and open league against Cal next week while Norwalk will go home and host Bellflower.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
