[La Puente] – Bassett scored quick and often in its 50-14 victory over La Puente Friday night at La Puente high school.<\/p>\n\n\n

La Puente got the ball first but couldn\u2019t do anything and punted on three and out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Olympians drove down the field and Josh Carrillo capped it off with a four yard touchdown run, a bad snap was recovered and taken in for a two point conversion making it 8-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Warriors didn\u2019t have much luck on their second dive getting a pair of first downs but fumbling into the hands of Oscar Urista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bassett took advantage and scored a few plays later on a 16-yard run by Nathan Acosta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La Puente then turned the ball over on downs. This time the Olympians went through the air down the field and quarterback Edgar Garcia found Giovanni Alvarez for a score putting it at 24-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Warriors answered back on the score asNathaniel Frisco found Gavin Delatte in the end zone, after a missed two point conversion it was 24-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bassett got on the board two more times before the half as Garcia hit Daniel Sierra on his second touchdown pass of the half and Diego Rayon hit a 30-yard field goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The score was 35-6 going into half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La Puente got a little life coming into the second half when they got a fumbled kickoff return but didn\u2019t do anything with it and turned the ball over on downs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Olympians would get on the board again two drives later when Garcia threw his third score of the night this time to Luis Camacho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Warriors chose to pound the rock the rest of the way and freshmen Aydan Centeno scored on a two yard run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bassett was still passing up by four scores as back up quarterback Kevin Ramirez hit Alvarez who sliced through the defense making it 50-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Garcia went 18 of 27 for 225-yards and three scores and a interception. Alvarez had six receptions for 162-yards and two touchdowns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Frisco for LP went 13 of 31 for 142-yards with a touchdown and an interception. Delatte finished with eight catches for 94-yards and a score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Warriors will turn in their uniforms tonight and finish the season 2-7 while Bassett wins the Miramonte league and will wait until Sunday to get paired in the CIF playoffs. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
