{"id":77442,"date":"2022-10-01T10:20:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T17:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=77442"},"modified":"2022-10-26T23:18:51","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T06:18:51","slug":"colts-beat-cavaliers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=77442","title":{"rendered":"Colts Beat Cavaliers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By George Hernandez <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Covina) &#8211; Jake Duronslet scored two late fourth quarter touchdowns to seal a 42-24 victory for Covina Saturday night over Montclair at Covina District Field.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Colts started the game off on the ground pounding it with Joseph Rangel and Joaquin Barragan, with Barragan finishing it off with a two-yard run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cavs came right back when Erick Harrison hit Elijah Tehe who slipped his way through the Colts defense and took it to paydirt for 79-yard yard pass and catch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both teams exchanged punts to start the second quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duronslet led the drive down field for Covina through the air this time connecting with Ronnie Ropke on a 14-yard touchdown.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montclair would put more points on the board as time expired in the first half with a Nicholas Casillas 30-yard field goal making it 14-10 going into halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cavs would take the lead on their second possession of the second half when Harrison connected with a wide open Jeremiah Ortiz for a 41-yard touchdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Covina went back to work on the ground after Duronslet broke a few tackles and gained 54-yards and Rangel took it in from 2-yards out putting them back up 21-17.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harrison didn\u2019t let Montclair trail for long as he found Tehe again this time for 40-yards and a Cavs touchdown.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lead lasted all of 16-seconds because Adrian Rachal took a kick-off back 99-yards for a touchdown.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Colts would force a punt and Duronslet scored on a quarterback sneak to put the lead at 35-24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ropke picked off a Harrison pass to seal it for Covina.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duronslet found the endzone one more time, this one on a 11-yard run.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rangel finished with 15-carries for 97-yards and a score.
