The Eagles have won their first three games including last week’s comeback against Montebello. Garey has struggled, losing its first three including two blowouts in the last two games. South El Monte jumps out early and never looks back.

South El Monte 28 Garey 13

Friday September 8

Arroyo (0-3) at Bell Gardens (2-1)

It’s been a rough start for Arroyo. The Knights are 0-3 and all three of their losses haven’t been close. Arroyo has been rotating quarterbacks trying to find an offensive rhythm. Bell Gardens has won two of three but the Lancers one loss was a 35-0 blowout by El Rancho. Arroyo will be in this one. It will come down to a field goal in the fourth quarter but BG gets it done.

Bell Gardens 17 Arroyo 14

El Rancho (2-1) at Montebello (1-2)

El Rancho got rocked last week by Monrovia while Montebello let one get away against South El Monte. ER’s offense can be explosive and they should be able to get that back this week. This is the toughest team the Oilers have played this season. The Dons will show that Friday night. El Rancho gets back on track.

El Rancho 34 Montebello 17

Northview (2-1) vs Covina (3-0) (Covina District Field)

Everybody is looking at this one as the best game of the week and for good reason. Northview has run over two of its first three opponents with the only loss being to a tough Sierra Vista (Las Vegas) team. Covina is 3-0 and its offense, led by Jake Duronslet, is hitting on all cylinders. There will be some points put on the board but in the end the Vikings will be a little too physical for the Colts.
