Now they have another tough game at Thousand Oaks. Thousand Oaks finished in a three-way tie for first in the tough Canyon League and has won five straight games. It will be a battle for the Bearcats especially on the road. But somehow, some way they find a way to get it done. Bonita advances.

Bonita 24 Thousand Oaks 21

DIV 7

Agoura (7-3) at Muir (8-3)

Muir showed how far it has come from Week 1 with the big win over Diamond Ranch last week. The Mustangs are at full strength and ready to make another deep run. Things only get harder as you advance in the post season but Muir looks to be up to the challenge. Charter Oak and Covina are in the same city but you can’t call it a rivalry because they haven’t met since 2001. It’s a surprise that the Chargers made the playoffs after a 2-8 season but here they are as an at large team in Division 8. Last week they took care of North (Torrance) while Covina beat Summit. Don’t let the 3-8 record fool you. The Chargers have some dudes and in this Division are capable of a run. If Covina avoids turnovers and can make some stops on defense the Colts have a great opportunity. It will come down to the fourth quarter but the Chargers “new season” continues. CO makes a big play down the stretch and holds on.

Charter Oak 31 Covina 28

DIV 9

Rio Hondo Prep (10-1) at Orange (7-4)

Rio Hondo Prep will run left, run and right and run up the middle. And if that doesn’t work the Kares will run it some more. They have the horses to do it. Noah Penunuri and Nate Curtis are both tougher than a three-dollar steak. They both rushed for over 100 yards last week in the win over St. Margaret’s. Orange hails from the Orange Coast League and is coming off of a 19-12 win over Diamond Bar last week. The Kares will pound it again and eventually wear down their opponent again.
