Chaminade coming out of the always tough Mission League while Warren hails from the Gateway where it seems like every week is another big test. The Bears lost only two games all year and had several big victories including a huge win over Downey at SoFi Stadium. It will be close with lead changes throughout the contest. Warren prevails in the end.

Warren 34 Chaminade 31

DIV 4

La Serna (9-3) at Culver City (9-3)

La Serna has played a tough schedule all year so this will be nothing new. The Lancers may be playing their best football of the season. Last week they dropped 50 on Trabuco Hills in the second round. Culver City has traditionally had an explosive offense. Last week the Centaurs overwhelmed Capistrano Valley 44-16. Could turn into a shootout but La Serna makes more stops. Lancers advance to the Finals.

La Serna 38 Culver City 31

DIV 7

Mayfair (9-3) at Muir (9-3)

Muir has always had a good offense but now the Mustangs defense is also playing well. They have only allowed 27 points in their last five games including three shutouts. Last week the Stangs shutdown Agoura 14-7. Mayfair also plays in the Gateway and has wins over La Mirada and Village Christian on its resume and last week beat a solid Chino team 45-21. Both teams evenly matched. Could come down to a kick in the end. The Monsoons emerge with the win.

Mayfair 30 Muir 27

DIV 8

Highland (8-4) at Charter Oak (4-8)

Charter Oak’s “second season” continues after last week’s 23-7 win over Covina. The Chargers, after a 2-8 regular season are now in the Semi-Finals. Highland, out of the Golden League, lost its first three games of the season but has won 8 of 9 since. Highland will be hard to handle but Charter Oak lives to see another day. Chargers move on to the Finals.

Charter Oak 28 Highland 27

DIV 9

Rio Hondo Prep (11-1) at Vista Del Lago (9-3)

Rio Hondo Prep looks like a team on a mission. The Kares beat St. Margaret’s at home in the first round and then went on the road last week to knock off a solid Orange squad. The Kares now have to travel again out to Moreno Valley to take on Vista Del Lago. The Ravens finished third in the Sunbelt and are 9-3 overall. Vista Del Lago will be tough. A road game in the Semis is never easy. But this is nothing the Kares can’t handle. RHP moves on.

Rio Hondo Prep 27 Vista Del Lago 21

DIV 10

West Covina (10-2) at Xavier Prep (7-4)

Expect a low scoring slugfest. Both teams like to run the ball and play good defense. It should be over quick. You may have time to catch a movie after the game. West Covina never threw the ball once two weeks ago in the first round win over Paloma Valley. Xavier Prep will present a challenge but Bulldogs will churn into the Finals.

West Covina 21 Xavier Prep 17

Quick Hits

Santa Fe at Yucca Valley – Yucca Valley

San Bernardino at Walnut – Walnut

Artesia at Bell Gardens – Artesia

[12816,3

post-82028","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-hsfootball","category-high-school-sports
["GET
