Two of the best pound for pound boxers in the world will meet Saturday May 2nd. Manny Pacquiao, (48-3-2, 36 ko’s), the IBO light welterweight champion, and considered\u00a0the best boxer in the world, will face hard hitting world class boxer Ricky Hatton (45-1, 32 ko’s).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Pacquiao is coming off a fight that made him a star a TKO win over Oscar De La Hoya in December. But De La Hoya wasn’t the first big name fighter he has fought. Pacquiao has fought the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Erik Morales.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Hatton might not have the star studded resume of Pacquiao, but he’s beat some world class boxers like Juan Urango, Jose Luis Castillo, and Paul Malignaggi. Hatton’s biggest fight to date was against then the best pound for pound boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. which he lost by KO.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This fight is going to come down to the speed of Pacquiao and the power of Hatton. Pacquiao has the speed to hit anyone, but does he have the chin to take a hook from Hatton?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Hatton isn’t slow. He also has very good speed and if he gets in an exchange with Pacquiao, and can dodge some of those left hands of Pacquiao it could be a short night for the fighter from the Philippines. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pacquiao and his speed can take the fight to the distance and come out on top. I don\u2019t think Pacquiao is going to be so active like he was against De La Hoya. If Pacquiao goes in there looking for the knockout he’s going to leave his chin open to get knocked out.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Freddy Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer, is experienced and a smart man. He knows that and I can see this fight going all 12 rounds and a decision for Pacquiao. Just hope Pacquiao follows the game plan but don’t be surprised if Hatton wins by TKO or KO.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
