And showing his versatility he also intercepted a pass in the endzone just before halftime to thwart a Monrovia drive.

Monrovia actually got on the board first on just two plays. After a short punt left the Wildcats at the San Dimas 36 Jesse Saucedo hit DJ Young for 22 yards down to the 14. On the next play Saucedo found Young again for a 14-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

San Dimas answered with an 80-yard drive as Tristan Fierro finished it with a five-yard run. San Dimas then forced a fumble by Saucedo and took over at the Monrovia 35. On the first play Brandon Meredith connected with a wide-open Nathaniel Almaraz for a 35-Yard touchdown to give the Saints a lead they never relinquished.

After a Monrovia punt the Saints put together another march. This time they went 83 yards on five plays. Vigil broke loose for a 50 -yard run down to the Monrovia 33. Meredith threw his second score of the night finding Jacob Gallegos for six yards and a 21-7 lead in the first quarter.

Monrovia’s Josh Griffiths punched it into the end zone from two yards out in the second quarter to cap a 55-yard march but that was the last time the Wildcats scored.

They did threaten just before the half but Vigil picked off Saucedo in the end zone with less than a minute left. San Dimas led 21-14 at the break.

In the second half it was all Vigil and the Saints defense. They forced Monrovia to punt four times in the second half and Gallegos had an intercepton.

Vigil had a 53-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter and a 24-yard TD jaunt in the fourth. In between Fierro got his second of the night on a four-yard run.

Tristan Fierro added to the devastating run attack with 88 yards and two scores. Meredith made the Monrovia defense think about the passing game with 114 yards and two scores through the air.

With six extra points in the game San Dimas kicker Brady Arriaga has now connected on 28 straight PATs.

For Monrovia Saucedo completed 13 of 26 for 128 yards and a score. But he was hurt by a fumble and an interception. Young had three catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.

San Dimas is now 4-1 and will start Valle Vista League play next Thursday night against West Covina.
