{"id":86162,"date":"2024-10-11T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-12T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=86162"},"modified":"2024-10-12T19:25:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-13T02:25:46","slug":"norwalk-survives-gahr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=86162","title":{"rendered":"Norwalk Survives Gahr"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By MVS Staff <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[Norwalk] &#8211; Diego Cerritos and Ezra Mueller kept the Lancers winning streak alive in a 43-35 battle against Gahr, Friday night at Norwalk high school.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Gladiators took an early lead on a 70-yard six-minute drive that was capped off with a one-yard dive by Dylan Richburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norwalk answered right back with their own long drive that was finished off with a Mueller two-yard hurdle over the defense but a missed two point attempt keep Gahr up 7-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gahr kept it going when Roman Acosta found an open Markell Slaughter for a 25-yard touchdown extending their lead to 14-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lancers tied it up when Mueller broke off a 29-yard run to paydirt and Cerritos took in the two point conversion tying it up 14-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gladiators were stopped on a fourth down attempt turning over the ball on downs. Norwalk capitalized with another Mueller touchdown this one from 16-yards giving them the lead 21-14 going into half.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lancers added to their lead on a Cerritos 39-yard run. After an extra point it was 28-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a turnover on downS again for Gahr but they were able to make Norwalk punt for the first time in four weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gahr was able to cut into the lead on a \u201cPhilly Special\u201d &#8211; a pitch pass when Richburg threw it back to the quarterback Acosta making it 28-21 late in the third.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cerritos added back to the Lancers lead with a 37-yard blast to the end zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richburg kept the Gladiators in the game with another touchdown.
