2000: 10-6\u2014Lost in playoffs to Saints.
\n2001: 14-2\u2014Lost Super 36 to Patriots.
\n2002: 7-9
\n2003: 12-4\u2014Lost in playoffs to Panthers.
\n2004: 8-8\u2014Lost second round to Falcons
\n2005: 6-10
\n2006: 8-8
\n2007: 3-13
\n2008: 2-14
\n2009: 1-15<\/p>\n

What was the key to this decline?<\/p>\n

From 2000 through 2009, the Rams drafted 86 players. Only eight of them became contributors in the NFL: Ryan Pickett, Adam Archuleta, Steven Jackson, Richie Incognito, O.J. Atogwe, Ronald Bartell, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Long, James Laurenaitis\u2026<\/p>\n

Of these eight, only Steven Jackson made the Pro Bowl while with the Rams. That\u2019s one out of 86.<\/p>\n

(Incognito played in four, but after he moved on to Miami and Buffalo.)<\/p>\n

That is how you kill a franchise.<\/p>\n

\nNotes: 6-2\/220\u2026Dart has started 41 games and played in 45. Accurate passer, but issues with the deep ball raise questions about arm strength\u2026Extremely mobile.<\/p>\n

#90\u2014Anthony Belton, T\u2014North Carolina St.<\/strong>
\nNote: 6-5\/345\u2026A left tackle exclusively. His stock in the last month has risen from the sixth to the third round. Aggressive, with the agility better fitting of a right tackle.<\/p>\n

#100\u2014Gunnar Helm, TE\u2014Texas<\/strong>
\nNote: 6-5\/250\u2026Ranked as the third-best TE available in the draft. Last season was his first as a starter, catching 60-passes for seven touchdowns. Compares to former Baltimore Raven standout, Todd Heap. An accomplished blocker.<\/p>\n

Fast on the field, he adjusts to under thrown passes with ease.

He\u2019s average as a blocker. Texas used him kind of like Tutu Atwell, and he separates quickly to stretch defenses. His intermediate routes, especially over the middle, are excellent.<\/p>\n

He has smooth hands, and the ball is softly received.<\/p>\n
