The Angels were blasted in St. Louis yesterday, 12-5, done in by Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera\u2019s three home runs and six runs batted in.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mike Trout\u2019s first home run of the season was lost in the contest, as was Logan O\u2019Hoppe\u2019s grand slam.<\/span><\/p>\n

Still, the club\u2019s off to a surprising 4-2 start, making fans hopeful.<\/span><\/p>\n

First Baseman Nolan Schanuel and outfielder Taylor Ward are off to decent starts, but Manager Ron Washington is waiting for the rest of the offense to wake up. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud of the way they (team) hang together. They just go out there and try to get the job done, and they are getting the job done,\u201d Washington told FanDuel Sports.<\/p>\n

The club currently owns a .198 batting average and an abysmal .267 OBP.<\/p>\n

The Angels have been able to compete and win so far this season thanks to its pitching staff. While Yusei Kikuchi got banged around a little yesterday and was wild with five walks, the rest of the staff, Jose Soriano, Kyle Hendricks, and Jack Kochanowicz, had excellent 2025 debuts.<\/p>\n

Kenley Jansen, two saves, Ben Joyce, and Reid Detmers have been solid out of the pen. <\/p>\n

The Halos are off today and will play their home opener against Cleveland on Friday night. <\/p>\n
