Numbers: Week 2 Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-91260\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Byrnes-e1755010598313-55x70.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"55\" height=\"70\" srcset=\"https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Byrnes-e1755010598313-55x70.jpeg 55w, https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Byrnes-e1755010598313-236x300.jpeg 236w, https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Byrnes-e1755010598313-118x150.jpeg 118w, https:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Byrnes-e1755010598313.jpeg 584w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 55px) 100vw, 55px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Tim Byrnes<\/p>\n<p>After two weeks, NFL teams are surprising fans and pundits alike.<\/p>\n<p>The Chargers are 2-0, the Chiefs are 0-2, and the defending Super Bowl champions look mortal while undefeated.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Week 2 started in Wisconsin:<\/p>\n<p><b>Green Bay 27 (2-0) Washington 18 (1-1)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Packers quarterback Jordan Love had another error-free outing, throwing for 292 yards and two touchdowns, as Green Bay was never threatened.<\/p>\n<p>As Love&#8217;s top target, tight end Tucker Kraft had 124 yards and a touchdown to lead the Packers.<\/p>\n<p>The Commanders lost running back Austin Ekeler to the injured list with a ruptured achilles while quarterback Jayden Daniels spent the game holding onto the ball too long.<\/p>\n<p>Either the Packers defensive backs are blanket coverage studs or Daniels is having checkdown issues.<\/p>\n<p><b>LA Rams 33 (2-0) Tennessee 19 (0-2)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Rams overcame two early stalls in the red zone, to pull away from the Titans in the second half, and take the win.<\/p>\n<p>Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford led an efficient offense with 298 yards passing and 2 touchdowns with an interception with wide receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams shining.<\/p>\n<p>Nacua had a 45-yard touchdown run to go with 91 receiving yards while L.A. newcomer Adams made fans forget Cooper Kupp for a day, with 6 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown of his own.<\/p>\n<p>Rams linebacker Byron Young is looking like an All-Pro, recording sacks 2+3, a strip sack, two quarterback hits, and two tackles-for-loss to anchor a tough defense.<\/p>\n<p><b>Detroit 52 (1-1) Chicago 21 (0-2)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Lions looked like the 15-2 team of a year ago, compiling 511 yards of total offense, and totally demolishing the Bears.<\/p>\n<p>Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns of which 9 passes went to Amon-Ra St. Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Brown scored three touchdowns along with his 115 yards receiving.<\/p>\n<p>The running back duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery combined for 151 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns to even out the offensive outburst.<\/p>\n<p>Bears second- year man Rome Odunze had an outstanding day with 7 receptions for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.<\/p>\n<p><b>Additional results Sunday:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Atl 22 Min 6<\/p>\n<p>Ari 27 Car 22<\/p>\n<p>Ind 29 Den 28<\/p>\n<p>Sea 31 Pit 17<\/p>\n<p>SF 26 NO 21<\/p>\n<p>NE 33 Mia 27<\/p>\n<p>Buf 30 NYJ 10<\/p>\n<p>Bal 41 Cle 17<\/p>\n<p>Cin 31 Jax 27<\/p>\n<p><b>Game of the Week:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Dallas 40 (1-1) New York Giants 37 (0-2)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In the game of the week, Giants quarterback Russell Wilson did everything to get the win for New York, throwing for 450 yards and 3 scores only to toss an interception in overtime to lose the game.<\/p>\n<p>The lead changed hands five times in the fourth quarter, as the &#8220;Dallas Prevent Defense&#8221; only prevented the Cowboys from putting the game away in regulation.<\/p>\n<p>Dallas quarterback Prescott<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>had 361 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception to lead the Cowboys back time after time;
