Glendora (1-5) at Bonita (3-3, 4-2 on field) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glendora has struggled this year losing five of its six games including 40-7 last week to Charter Oak. Bonita, despite some injuries to key players has still won four games (on the field). The Bearcats still have their eye on a Sierra League title. Bonita rolls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday October 10 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claremont (6-0) at Charter Oak (5-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great matchup in the Sierra League as Claremont is coming in undefeated and Charter Oak has only lost once. The Chargers have played a tough schedule. They beat an explosive Muir team by one and handled Upland at SoFi. Claremont will hang around but in the end the Chargers will have too much. Charter Oak gets the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Damien (5-1) at Etiwanda (3-3) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Damien is coming off a heartbreaking two-point loss to Rancho Cucamonga while Etiwanda throttled Ayala. The Spartans have a pair of great receivers in Gavin Williams and Travon Garrison. Either one or both may have a big game. The Damien offense gets going in this one. Etiwanda won’t be able to keep up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pasadena (4-2) at Burbank (4-2) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burbank looks like the second-best team in the Pacific. But when the Bulldogs matched up against Muir they were routed by 30. Pasadena has some weapons. Last week freshman receiver Synncere Pitts had over 100 yards receiving and quarterback Dutch Burbidge has thrown for 23 touchdowns on the season. But Pasadena will have its work cut out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burbank has a talented quarterback as well in Deshawn Laporte and a quality receiver in Tyler Hudson. Both teams can score. Expect a lot of points, a lot of passes and a lot of big plays. Burbank is the last team standing in a shootout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alta Loma (4-2) at Baldwin Park (4-2) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another good matchup in the Valle Vista League. After Northview this is anybody’s league to win. Baldwin Park lost to the Vikings last week while Alta Loma was falling to West Covina. Both teams are solid and both come in with the same records of 4-2. Baldwin Park kept up with Northview last week until late in the game. It will be a battle but the Braves make a play offensively in the end. BP prevails. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Gabriel (5-1) at Bell Gardens (4-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Gabriel got boat raced last week by Schurr while Bell Gardens scratched out a 14-2 win over Alhambra. The Matadors have some dudes. They just made some key mistakes and it snowballed on them in the second half. Bell Gardens has shown it can play defense. The Lancers held El Rancho to seven earlier this year and allowed only 14 to Cal in a loss. BG is looking to end a three-game losing streak. Bell Gardens comes out on top in a defensive battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Dimas (4-2, 3-3 on field) at West Covina (4-2<\/strong>) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Covina is coming off a close win over Alta Loma while San Dimas was running over Diamond Ranch. Both teams like to run the ball although Elias Irvin has thrown for 660 yards and eight touchdowns for the Bulldogs. The Saints will mix in a pass now and then when they aren’t pounding it with Jacob Gallegos who has rushed for 670 yards and four scores. It should down to the wire. Flipping a coin is probably the best bet. I did it and it came up San Dimas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Canada (7-0) at South Pasadena (3-4) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Pasadena has had La Canada’s number the last few years. Last week the Tigers caught a short-handed Monrovia team and came away with the upset. La Canada has been on a roll. The Spartans have scored 42 or more points in five of their seven victories. Joe Bell and Dash Paper have been a dynamic duo. The Spartans are all healthy and ready to rock. La Canada wins big.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
