View 35-9 Thursday night at El Monte High. <\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Standley hauled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Alex Aleman in the first quarter and had two short touchdown runs of one and two yards in the third and fourth quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lions were already up 28-9 when Standley broke off a 47-yard run down to the one-yard line. (Photo by Duane Barker). <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Standley had just four carries for 67 yards and the two scores and two receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Monte scored on its first two possessions. The Lions marched 63 yards on five plays on the opening series. Aaron Rivera scored on a three-yard run and then kicked the extra point himself to make it 7-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the next possession Standley&#8217;s 22-yard touchdown reception capped a 66-yard drive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mt. View got on the board early in the second quarter after the Lions botched a punt return with a fumble and the Vikings recovered on the El Monte 21. After Mt. View stalled on the El Monte 10-yard line Jake Guevara booted a 27-yard field goal to make it 14-3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in the quarter Aleman threw a 24-yard touchdown strike to Visi Aseh in the corner of the endzone to make it 21-3 with 6:00 left in the second quarter. The Lions took that lead into the half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early in the third El Monte drove 68 yards on 10 plays with Standley going in from the two. (Photo by Duane Barker).    <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mt View did manage one more touchdown when Anthony Erazo grabbed a 14-yard touchdown toss from Manuel Gonzales with 14 seconds left in the third quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aleman had a big night completing 19 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns. Alonso Hernandez Jr. hauled in nine catches for 139 yards and Aseh had seven receptions for 113 yards and a score. Rivera had 90 yards in 13 carries to lead the ground attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Mt. View Everardo Nunez had 73 yards on 13 carries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lions are firmly entrenched in first place in the Mission Valley League as they improved to 4-0. They are 6-2 overall.
