Arcadia (0-1) at Monrovia (0-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: Monrovia 27-13<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monrovia hung with Glendora for three quarters. <\/span>A few less turnovers could have meant Wildcat win. The Apaches gave St. Frank\u2019s all it wanted. Taylor Lagace is a beast for Arcadia. Christian Blanco has emerged as Monrovia\u2019s feature back.<\/p>\n

Arroyo (2-0) at Montebello (0-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Meeting: 11-16-2001: Montebello 27 Arroyo 14 \u2013 CIF Playoffs First Round<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arroyo has been putting points on the board. So far the Knights haven\u2019t been tested.<\/p>\n

Montebello has struggled so far. The Knights should have no problems.<\/p>\n

Burbank (1-1) at San Gabriel (0-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: Burbank 40 San Gabriel 28<\/strong><\/p>\n

San Gabriel\u2019s loss to South Pas was a stunner. We forgave the Mats for the beat down by Muir but we didn\u2019t see the Tigers coming. Burbank won a shootout with Warren but was belted by Chaminade. Adam Colman and Ulisies Ochoa will give San Gabriel fits. Coach Jude Oliva will have to wait at least another week for a victory.<\/p>\n

El Monte (0-1) at Covina (2-0)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: Covina 13 El Monte 0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite the loss there were some positives for El Monte. The offense moved the ball and Michael Jimenez is a tough runner.<\/p>\n

Covina had no signs of a let down after a huge opening night win over West Covina. Billy Livingston can carve up a defense when given time. Covina has too much.<\/p>\n

Temple City (0-1) at Alhambra (0-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: Alhambra 17 Temple City 14<\/strong><\/p>\n

All-Time: Temple City 12-6<\/strong><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t pretty for Temple City in week one but with a new coach and several new players it was somewhat expected.<\/p>\n

Alhambra has some issues of its own. DC Jacob Ochoa has taken over for Lou Torres on an interim basis and there are some injuries. But lineman Chris Salgado should be back this week. The Moors need to get the offense rolling. Moors win a close call.<\/p>\n

Downey (1-0) at Schurr (0-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: Downey 19 Schurr 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s actually been a rough two weeks for Schurr. Prior to the loss last week to Cantwell, the Spartans didn\u2019t look good in a scrimmage vs. La Canada.<\/p>\n

Downey meanwhile beat up La Serna 35-24 last week. Kyle Lewis had over 180 yards rushing. Keep in mind, Schurr had trouble with the run last week.<\/p>\n

San Marino (1-0) at La Salle (0-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: San Marino 35 La Salle 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a rough start for La Salle. Last week the Lancers were torched by Maranatha for 38 points and they gave up 55 in week one. San Marino got the ground game going with Kwame Do. Titans go 2-0.<\/p>\n

Glendale (0-1) at La Canada (1-0)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: La Canada 35 Glendale 0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scott Gray looks like a suitable replacement for Rocky Moore. Daleep Sandu gives the Spartans a solid running attack. And the defense is good.<\/p>\n

Glendale lost to Cathedral but it was only 21-10. Nitros compete but LC gets the victory.<\/p>\n

Rancho Cucamonga (2-0) at San Dimas (1-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n

San Dimas scheduled up this year as Rancho comes to town The Saints bounced back last week after a loss to Bonita in the Smudge Pot. Quarterback Codee Watts had big game against South El Monte.<\/p>\n

As for Cucamonga? The Cougars have big wins over Silverado and Great Oak. San Dimas thought Bonita was tough. This game will be no picnic.<\/p>\n

Baldwin Park (0-2) at Cantwell-Sacred Heart (1-0)<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s another tough game for Baldwin Park. The Braves are 0-2 but when Rowland and South Hills are on the docket it can be tough sledding. BP had a 16 point lead early on Rowland.<\/p>\n

Cantwell surprised Schurr lighting up the scoreboard for nearly 50. Who is Jonathan Mesa and why is he running for 335 yards? The Braves need to stop this guy. I think they can.<\/p>\n

El Rancho (2-0) at Bell Gardens (0-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Year: Bell Gardens 17-14<\/strong><\/p>\n

These two teams are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. While El Rancho has won its first two games\u00a0including a 41-0 thumping of Los Altos\u00a0in zero week,\u00a0Bell Gardens was laying a 48-0 egg at home against Azusa last Friday night. The rout was a surprise. In fact,\u00a0many people\u00a0thought BG would upset the Aztecs (for the record I took Azusa).<\/p>\n

While El Rancho might not be quite that good, Bell Gardens is certainly not that bad. The Dons do have plenty of weapons and they will be on display here.\u00a0They will win but it won\u2019t be by 40 points. BG needs to get Josh Adame and Steve Ibarra going early.<\/p>\n
