(Photo by Duane Barker).  <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By Tim Peterson <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Arcadia) &#8211; Rio Hondo jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first three innings and rolled to a 14-1 rout of Beacon Hill Thursday in the first round of the Division 8 CIF playoffs. <\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Kares got two in second inning. Nic Harrington was hit by a pitch and Julian Rodriguez and Calogero Chico walked to load the bases. Rodriguez hit a two-run double that plated Landon Scott and Devn Gomez, who had both singled. Harrington drew a walk and scored on a ground out by Benicio Tardino. After walks to Diaz and Easton Jara loaded the bases Brayden Vinton cleared them with a double to left. Vinton then scored on an error on a fly ball by Scott. By the time the third out was mercifully recorded the Kares were up nine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kares moved into double digits as they added five more in the fourth. Freshman Matt Montez capped a five-run inning with a two-run shot to left. Vinton also had a two-run double earlier in the inning and scored himself on a ground ball. Rio Hondo Prep pitchers allowed just four hits overall.
