La Salle Takes Down St. Francis

By Corey Kwok (Pasadena) – La Salle, trailing 5-0 after three innings, spun off a big five run game-tying rally in the fourth, and tacked on five more in the sixth to beat St. Francis 10-6 Monday at Jackie Robinson Field.

La Salle Splits Two at ELAC

(East Los Angeles College) – La Salle was shutout in the afternoon by Segerstrom but rebounded to rout Whittier in the night cap Saturday at the Whittier Tournament at East LA College. Here’s a recap of the games.

TC Slugged by Standley Lake

(Temple City) – Temple City was hit with eight runs in the first two innings and fell to Standley Lake (Colorado) 14-5 Saturday. Standley Lake piled up 14 hits in all including five for exta bases.

Paramount’s Late Runs Beat Lynwood

By Corey Kwok (Paramount) – Paramount scored on a two out single by Aaron Pleitez (2-3, RBI) and capitalized on two throwing errors in the bottom of the sixth inning and went to beat Lynwood 5-2 Tuesday.

Apaches Yield to Yucaipa

By Corey Kwok (Arcadia) – Cleanup hitter Dillon Rezendes drove in two runs and Yucaipa, scored all three of its runs with two outs to beat Arcadia 3-1 Monday night at Giambrone Field in a second round game of the Babe Herman Tournament.

White to Coach East All-Stars at 605

(Buena Park) – The 46th Annual 605 All Star Football Classic is slated for Cerritos College on Friday Night,  June 7th 2013. Kick Off is at 7:30 PM.  Anthony White of Buena Park has been named Head Coach of the East All Stars and Paramount’s Matt Howard will coach the West.

San Miguel’s Three-Run Bomb Lifts Rosemead

By Corey Kwok (San Gabriel) – Steven San Miguel (2 for 4, two runs, 3 RBI, HR) capped a riveting five run rally in the top of the sixth with a three run bomb over Gabrielino’s right field fence to lift Rosemead to a 9-4 victory over the Eagles Friday the Mission Valley League opener for both teams.

Georgen, Apaches Blank La Salle

(Stengel Field) – Austin Georgen threw a three hit, complete game shutout and Arcadia got all the runs it needed in the first two innings in a 4-0 whitewash of La Salle Saturday at the Babe Herman Tournament.

Tucker Takes over at Maranatha

(Pasadena) – In coaching circles when things happen, they happen quickly. In the last 24 hours Pasadena Coach Tim Tucker stepped down as the Bulldogs coach and has been named the new HC at Maranatha. Tim Godley, Maranatha’s head coach for the last five years, resigned Monday paving the way for Tucker’s hiring Tuesday.

Arcadia Blanks La Salle at Duarte Tournament

(Duarte) – Arcadia got the only run it needed in the fourth inning and went on to beat La Salle 1-0 Saturday at the Duarte Tournament.
