Big Night for Niko; San Marino Defeats El Monte 48-6

By Rich Whittington (El Monte) – San Marino quarterback Niko Mavridis celebrated a “Night For The Ages” Friday evening, leading the San Marino Titans to victory over the host El Monte Lions, 48-6, at El Monte’s own Lions Stadium.

Alhambra Gets First Win with 48-8 Rout of Temple City

By Ron Vrooman (Alhambra) – The Alhambra Moors dominated an overmatched Temple City team, 48-8, in a rare Thursday afternoon game at Moor Field. The nonleague victory improved Alhambra’s season record to 1-2, while Temple City fell to 0-2.    

Valle Sparks Oilers

By George Hernandez (Montebello) – South El Monte took a 13-0 lead into the fourth quarter but Montebello third string quarterback Michael Valle made it disappear in 20 seconds and led the Oilers to a 21-19 win over the Eagles Thursday night at Heaman Field.
