Lions Hold off Vikings, 12-7

By Rich Whittington (El Monte) The El Monte Lions found just enough offense to edge the visiting Mt. View Vikings Friday evening, 12-7, in front of a spirited Homecoming crowd at El Monte Stadium.

Spartans Thwart Moors’ Upset Bid, 42-22; Maintain Share of Almont League Lead

By Ron Vrooman (Montebello) – It looked like an upset was in the making on Friday night, when the visiting Alhambra Moors capitalized on mistakes by the Schurr Spartans to build a 16-0 lead in the second quarter. But instead Schurr regained control and rallied to beat Alhambra 42-22 in Almont League action.

Bulldogs are Kings of Cameron

By Tim Peterson (Covina) – West Covina’s defense pitched a shutout and the offense did the rest in a 26-0 win over South Hills Saturday night at Covina District Field. With the rivalry victory the Bulldogs can proclaim the title of the Kings of Cameron for 2021.

Cal Gets Hit By The Ranch

By Duane Barker (Pico Rivera) El Rancho’s Elijah Mitchell tossed four touchdowns all to Jacob Jimenez in a 38-28 victory over the visiting Cal Condors on homecoming night kicking off Del Rio League play at El Rancho High School.

Glendora Grinds Out a Win

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Glendora played ground and pound and eventually downed Ayala 21-7 Friday night at Citrus College.

Chargers Shine on Homecoming

By Alex Gonzalez (Covina) – The Charter Oak defense lead by linebacker Jordan Gonzalez compiled four sacks, picked off two passes, and scored two touchdowns in their 34-6 Homecoming win over Los Altos Friday night at Lou Farrar field. Solomon Davis and Zakkarii Black added scores on offense.
