Schurr is Second at Duarte Tourney

By Tim Peterson (Duarte) – Schurr advanced all the way to the Championship game of the Duarte Tournament before falling to Mary Star of the Sea 3-0 Saturday in the Final. The Spartans knocked off Whittier on a walk off home run by Karen Roman Thursday night to earn a spot in the title game.

Maranatha Takes 4A Title: 59-53

By Joe Torosian (Azusa)- Maranatha Minutemen used a key three, and six consecutive free throws in the final minute to hold on and beat the Campbell Hall Vikings 59-53 in the CIF Boys 4A title game at the Felix Event Center on the campus of Azusa Pacific University.

White to Coach East in 605 Game

Buena Park head coach Anthony White and his staff will coach the East in the 605 All-Star Game. The game will be played June 6 at Cerritos College.

Maranatha-Campbell Hall Final at Azusa Pacific

By Tim Peterson (Pasadena) – The CIF 4A Division Final between Maranatha and Campbell Hall will be played Friday at 5:00 pm at Azusa Pacific’s Felix Event Center it was announced Monday.

Minutemen Move on to Final

By Tim Peterson (Cerritos) – Maranatha jumped in front from the outset, opened up a 20 point lead in the third quarter, before eventually settling for a 67-55 win over Valley Christian Friday night to advance to the CIF Division 4A Finals.

Dorsey Drops 40; Minutemen Roll

Pasadena Makes its Point, 53-52
