Whittier Wears Down Rams
(Temple City) – Whittier overcame an early deficit and outscored Temple City by 16 over the final three quarters to beat the Rams 62-52 Friday night in the first round of the CIF Division 2A Playoffs.
Lady Lions Season Ends
(El Monte) – The El Monte girls led at halftime and were still within a point heading into the fourth quarter. But the Lady Lions couldn’t keep up in the final frame and fell to Calabasas 58-47 Thursday night in the first round of the CIF Division 3AA Playoffs.

By Corey Kwok (Pasadena) – Maranatha capitalized on nine turnovers that led to a 22-9 first quarter lead and cruised to a 64-31 romp over San Marino Wednesday night in the first round of the CIF Division 4AA playoffs.

(Pasadena) – Village Christian missed six free throws in the fourth quarter and made only three field goals in the final frame but still managed to escape with a 47-45 win over Maranatha Tuesday night on the Minutemen home floor.
