Boys Basketball Area Top 20

Village Christian, Bonita and Mayfair all finished off perfect league runs. Muir fell to Pasadena but still claimed Pacific crown. Crescenta Valley surprised the Bulldogs and took third.

Workman Wears Montview Crown

(Covina) – Workman used a 9-0 run to open the third quarter and then shut out Gladstone completely in the fourth to cruise to a 48-28 win over the Gladiators Friday night to clinch the Montview League title.

Gabrielino Works OT for MVL Title

CV Beats Arcadia in Regular Season Finale

Bulldogs Bark in Rematch

(Pasadena) – Pasadena jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back in a 71-53 rout of Muir Thursday night before a packed house at Muir. The Mustangs beat Pasadena in the first meeting and have since clinched the Pacific League title but the Bulldogs salvaged a split in the city rivalry.

LadyCats Comeback Make it Back-to-Back

(Monrovia) – For three quarters La Canada managed to hold star senior guard Gina Henderson to just one point heading into the final quarter leading by two points. Henderson however, took control of the final stanza to lead Monrovia to its second consecutive Rio Hondo League title, with a 48-43 win.

MVL Wednesday Roundup

Muir Beats CV, Wins Pacific League Title

By Tom Hendrickson (Pasadena)- Muir (24-1, 13-0) came from behind and held on to beat Crescenta Valley (21-5, 10-3) at home, 66-63. Crescenta Valley jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead, however Muir recovered quickly and led 15-14 at the end of the first quarter.

Great matchups this week as Village Christian squares off with Maranatha and Muir hosts Pasadena. Bonita keeps on winning in the Hacienda and Mayfair rules the Suburban. What’s up with Wilson? The Wildcats are in control in the Valle Vista.
