Summer Mid Valley Old School Top 15

In late July is it too early for Top 10 or 20 lists? Probably, but most area schools are on dead period so we figured we would toss up an Old School Top 15 before everybody comes back. We’ve included Baldwin Park, Sierra Vista and Bosco Tech in our old school teams.

Cantu to Pierre Garcon…Touchdown!

That was the call earlier this month when former Schurr quarterback Aaron Cantu got a chance to throw passes to Indianapolis Colt receiver Pierre Garcon for an episode of ESPN Sports Science.

West Covina Wins Lineman Comp

(El Monte) – West Covina won the Lineman Competition at Arroyo Saturday taking four of eight events. Azusa, Villa Park, and Arroyo finished second, third and fourth respectively and were only separated by a total of three points.  

Lineman Competition set for Saturday

(El Monte) – The Lineman competition is set for this Saturday Juy 16 at Arroyo High School. Lineman from area schools will participate in a variety of drills to determine speed balance, strength and agility. The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 am.   

Breaking News: They were Throwing at Arroyo!

(El Monte) – Arroyo, Alhambra, Maranatha, SGV Shootout Champion Diamond Bar and Schurr tossed it around behind B.L. Bergstom Stadium on Thursday. It’s become as common as the morning sunrise to see teams thowing at Arroyo but as long as I got a camera I’ll be there.

Rams Finish First Phase

(Temple City) – Temple City finished up its first phase of spring/summer practices Thursday before breaking for the next three weeks on dead period.
