Mid Spotlight: Myles Carr
Arcadia quarterback Myles Carr is entering his second full season as the starter. Carr really came into own last year throwing for over 18oo yards while leading the Apaches into the playoffs. Carr is expected to be even better this year and is already getting looks to play at the next level.
Tuesday Toss at Arroyo
(El Monte) – These days they’re throwing every Tuesday and Thursday at Arroyo. Tuesday was just another one of those days. The Knights welcomed Rowland, Northview and Arcadia to toss it around.
Mid Spotlight: Josh Mendoza
Alhambra’s Josh Mendoza is entering his second full year as the starting quarterback. Last year he got his feet wet as a sophomore but with a full season of experience and significant practice time (passing leagues, etc.) Mendoza is looking to have a break out year.
Mid Spotlight: Andy Guerrero
San Gabriel’s Andy Guerrero is still battling Eric Alvarez for the starting quarterback position. But we’re hearing he could see time at other positions as well. He could line up in the back field, in the slot or wide. In Coach Jude Oliva’s offense Guerrero will get plenty of touches regardless of where he’s at.
SGV Shootout Set for July 9
(El Monte) – The SGV Shootout is set for Saturday July 9 at Arroyo High School. Last year the Shootout was moved to Gladstone while Arroyo was under remodel construction but this year it returns to its home.

This is the first of many spotlights we will be doing on individual local players through out the summer. A spotlight is a few quick pieces of information on previous year’s stats, position and other necessary notes. Additional comments are always welcome.
East Hangs on in Hall of Fame
(West Covina) – The East All-Stars scored early in the second quarter and then made it stand up in a 7-6 win over the West Friday night in the 32nd Annual Hall of Fame Game at West Covina High School.
