La Canada Powers Its Way to Rio Hondo Win
(La Canada) – After a week and half hiatus due to inclement weather, La Canada flexed its muscle to halt Monrovia’s four-game winning streak 5-0.

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day. Rain has made a mess of the schedule. Some teams did play during when the rain didn’t persist during last week.
High School Softball Top 25
Not many changes with the abbreviated schedule due to the inclement weather. This week many make-up games either because of scheduling conflicts or rain. Bonita (11-2) – Bearcats get a rare week off due to rain. South Hills (8-3) – Promising start to Sierra League.
High School Baseball Area Top 25
The real winner this week was the rain as it wreaked havoc on the schedule all week. Nearly all of Friday’s games were called due to damage that the storms did to the playing fields. There were a few changes however with a couple of surprises early in the week.
Sanderson Pitches Temple City to Win
By Corey Kwok (Temple City) – Ben Sanderson fanned 10 and allowed just one run in five innings as Temple City beat La Salle Prep of Milwaukie, Oregon 8-1 Thursday. Temple City’s pitchers struck out 14 in all and the offense did the rest rapping out nine hits.
Two Muir Mustangs Selected to All-CIF Team
Muir’s Jelani Mitchell and Dion Nelson have both been named, First Team All CIFSS 5AA.
Heralds triumph over La Habra
By Josh Lowden (La Habra) –Led by freshman Melissa Martene’s three RBIs, the Whittier Christian Heralds were able to comeback from a three-run deficit in the fifth inning to defeat La Habra, 6-4.
