UCLA Offers McCarthy

Monrovia standout Ellis McCarthy has been offered a scholarship to play football at UCLA.

The Peterson Principle 11/15/10

It’s the best time of the year. But then again it’s the worst. While the next four weeks of the CIF High School football playoffs are special,  it’s also a reminder of how little time we have left in the season.

Game Night: Mid-Valley Division Playoffs

Village Christian (6-4, Olympic at large) at Azusa (10-0, Montview #1) This is not your typical 1 vs. 16 matchup. Make no mistake Village Christian is good. Amjed Aboul-hosn makes big plays for Village in an offense that can score points. This will be Azusa’s toughest test to date.

Game Night: Southeast Division Playoffs

CIF Playoff Pairings: Southeast Division Bellflower (5-5, Suburban #4) at West Covina (9-1, Hacienda #1)

Old School Top 12

By Johnathan Saller What a way to end the year. There were a few minor upsets and round one has arrived with some of the Oldschool playoff bound in style. Some crushed its opponents regularly, see: Monrovia; some got lucky, see: Temple City; while others well…better luck next year, see: Duarte.

High School Top 16 Southeast Division: Playoff Edition

Our top 16 isn’t necessarily the same as the CIF top 16. There are some changes from what CIF-SS ranks, but not much.

High School Top 16 Mid-Valley Division: Playoff Edition

Our top 16 isn’t necessarily the same as the CIF top 16. They like Azusa as the top seed, we like Monrovia. They like Arroyo at number three while we have Azusa there with Whittier Christian at two. Hey, we both agreed on Covina at number four.
