(Montebello)- Andrew Torres led all scorers with 30 points and Michael Carabes tossed in 20 but it wasn’t enough as Montebello fell to Upland 70-65 Friday night in the second round of the CIF Division 1AA playoffs.
M-Town Ladies Advance, 51-48 Over Mead
(Rosemead) The visiting Monrovia Lady Wildcats overcame 18-points by Evelyn Ramirez and 17-points from Melody Gauthier to eek out a tough 51-48 victory over Rosemead on Thursday night in the first round of the CIF playoffs.
Irvine Too Much for EM
(El Monte)- The El Monte Lady Lions kept it close trailing by only four at the end of one and just seven at halftime, before falling to visiting Irvine 46-22 on Thursday night in the first round of the CIF playoffs.
Lady Spartans Hold Off Sea Queens
(La Canada) – Despite shooting just 29% from the field, La Canada was able to slip past Corona Del Mar in the first round of the Division 4AA playoffs, 43-33 in a rematch of last year’s opening round game.
Lancers Bury Vikings, 75-53
(Sierra Madre) – La Salle took advantage of a depleted Blair line-up to advance to the second round of the Division 4-A CIF-SS playoffs with a convincing 75-53 victory.
