Love Leads East All Stars over West

By George Hernandez (Whittier) – Norwalk’s Alexis Love (15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 assists) won MVP honors and led the East All Stars to a 68-65 win over the West in the 6th Annual Sargent’s Sporting Goods All-Star girl’s basketball game Saturday at Whittier College.

High School Baseball Area Top 20

Temple City’s ten inning tie with Glendora was the highlight of the Apache Invitational. The Tartans’ Adam Plutko attracted plenty of scouts with a fastball that was clocked at 91. He didn’t disappoint by striking out 16 but the Rams battled him to a deadlock.

Tartans Repeat as Arcadia Tourney Champs

By Tony Solorzano (Arcadia) Four first-inning runs put senior pitcher Jake Smigelski in position to notch a complete game as Glendora knocked off host Arcadia 10-2 in the finals of the Apache Invitational Thursday night at Giambrone Field.

Arcadia Rolls into Final

(Arcadia) – Erik Trask threw six scoreless innings and allowed just one hit to lead Arcadia to a 9-0 shutout of La Salle Wednesday night to advance to the championship game of the Apache Tournament.

Rams pass University Test

(Arcadia) – Temple City scored six runs in the sixth inning to break it open and went on to beat University 8-3 Wednesday at the Apache Invitational.

Rams Fit to be Tied

(Arcadia) – For 10 innings Temple City went toe to toe with area heavyweight Glendora. And after it was all over both teams were left standing. The game was called due to the time limit and they settled for a 2-2 tie Tuesday at the Apache Invitational.

Temple City stunned St. Frank’s with four in the bottom of the seventh at the Apache Invitational. Arcadia got a strong outing from K.J. Edson to take care of San Dimas. Northview is still the king of the Valle Vista after Eddie Pedroza went the distance to beat Covina.

Apaches make Quick Work of Saints

(Arcadia) – Arcadia still had time to catch a late movie. It took K.J Edson and the Apaches just one hour and 36 minutes to finish off San Dimas 3-1 Saturday night at the Apache Invitational.
