By Rich Whittington (South El Monte) – The South El Monte Eagles literally had their way with the visiting El Monte Lions Friday evening, cruising to a 40-19 victory in the Griffin Bowl at Eagles’ Stadium, known affectionally as “The Swamp”.

Mid Valley High School Football Top 12

Everybody in the Top 12 won in Week 6 except Bishop Amat. No big changes this week but La Serna did jump up a spot with a big win and Amat’s loss. Bonita pressing Damien for the top as the Bearcats just keep on winning. Northview-San Dimas is huge this week.

Duronslet’s Dash Carries Colts to Finish Line

By Tim Peterson (Covina)- Jake Duronslet dashed into the end zone from eight yards out with 16 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give Covina a 23-18 win over Los Altos Friday night at Covina District Field.

La Canada Wins Rio Hondo League Opener, 35-0

By Rich Whittington (San Marino) -The La Canada Spartans improved to 6-0 Friday evening, defeating the host Temple City Rams, 35-0, in the Rio Hondo League opener for both teams, on the grounds of San Marino High School.
