February is a great month. You have the Super Bowl at the beginning of it and only 28 days comprise it. Today is March 1st. and one month closer to the fall. Lets be real here “FOOTBALL” makes the world go round well or my world for the most part.
Quick Alhambra update from last week:
Josh Mendoza is a bit banged up with a “slight case of tendonitis so I have to take three weeks off but I should be ready for track season.”
Diamond Bar’s Andrew Cameron threw for over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns. He looks forward for what the future has in store for him.
“My future plans do include playing football at the collegiate level, and I have been offered a scholarship from a NAIA school in southern Iowa called Graceland University,” answered Cameron. But till then he is still attending DB and has been; “…playing basketball and baseball for the school but I know once spring football comes around I’m going to miss high school ball a lot.”
Looking over the Graceland roster they have four returning QB’s and with the addition of Cameron I’m sure there will be a heavy competition come camp.
I spoke to San Dimas Saint Shawn Kennedy about the upcoming season “I think that it’s going to be another great year with most of our guys coming back we should have a great year if we work hard on the field and in practice.”
Many athletes play multiple sports and I believe it gives many of them a distinct advantage. Not only on the field or court but also in the most important place, the classroom. Having time restricted and limited to practice and having to maintain your GPA.
Continue to send in highlights and keep watching “The No Huddle Show” every Tuesday at 7pm.
Quick San Gabriel add:
They have two talented quarterbacks returning for them in Andy Guerrero who threw for 1,100 yards and rushed for another 571 yards in what was essentially half the season and Eric Alvarez who was a sophomore last season and came out the victor in last summers QB battle. While Guerrero took the starting snaps, Alvarez moved to the defensive side and recorded two sacks. I look forward to see who comes out the starter this season.
Stay thirsty San Diego
