Schurr’s Sal Chavez

Schurr is counting on Chavez to have a big year at quarterback. The thing is he might also have a big year on the D-line, linebacker or even tight end. In fact the versatile senior can play a number of positions and that’s what makes him so valuable to the Spartans. Chavez has already been getting looks at the D-1 level. West Point has been actively recruiting him and came out to Schurr to visit him. Chavez also went on an unofficial trip to West Point and has been to camps at Fresno State and the University of San Diego. They just love a guy that can not only throw a touchdown pass but can also sack the guy trying to throw the pass.
Make no mistake Chavez is going to be in the spotlight this year for the men in green. We just don’t know where it will be. He could be lining up behind center, over the center or in the middle of the field at linebacker. Or it could be all three. Stay tuned.
